Gilchrist Continues Dominant Senior Year

Marcus Gilchrist, a 5-11, 175 pound cornerback prospect and Clemson verbal commitment for the class of 2007 said he was watching Saturday night when Clemson defeated No. 9 FSU on the road.

"Yeah I watched the game. I think I was more excited than they were. It was great," Gilchrist told "Crezdon Butler actually called me before the game. I didn't get the phone, but he left me a message. He was just checking up on me. He told me to make sure I watched the game.

"It was great seeing the young guys play so much."

The Andrews (N.C.) standout, who visited Clemson for the Tigers' season opener against Florida Atlantic, will be back in Death Valley on Saturday.

"Yeah I am going to be there Saturday. I am not sure who I will be coming with yet, but I'll be there," he said.

The 4-star prospect also continued his impressive senior season on Friday night with a win over his rival.

"We won our rivalry game this week," he said. "We beat High Point Central 34-28. I had over 200 all-purpose yards."

"I just want to come in and work hard," he said. "I want to practice hard. I want to work hard on the field and in the classroom. I want to help the team out any way I can whether it is on the field or on the sideline." Top Stories
