5 Questions for Clemson - North Carolina

After losing three key starters to injury, there was much concern headed into the Florida State game. However, after giving up barely 200 yards in total offense maybe this unit still has the ability to shutdown the opposition.

#5. Can James Davis go over 100 yards rushing?
RB James Davis has gotten off to a strong start as the current leading rushing in the ACC at 93 yards/game, but he has yet to go over 100 yards. After North Carolina gave up 211 yards rushing to Division I-AA power Furman, it seems logical that Davis could finally go over the century mark Saturday.

#4. Can Jad get back on track?
First it was the blocking, then it was Jad Dean taking too long to get off his kicks. Whatever the issues have been in the past, they need to be fixed Saturday against the Heels if Clemson has serious intentions of winning the ACC's Atlantic Division.

#3. Can Clemson avoid the dreaded letdown game?
It happened in 2003 against Wake Forest. It happened in 2004 against Duke. It happened in 2005 against Wake Forest, again. Will it happen this season? The team is saying all the right things leading up to this game, but will it translate into an easy win Saturday? North Carolina's offense may not let it happen.

#2. Which freshman will have a breakout performance?
Again, Furman rolled up over 500 yards of total offense on North Carolina's home field just last weekend. Can any of Clemson's young guns have a breakout performance? We've seen small glimpses of C.J. Spiller and Jacoby Ford through the first three games, but the opportunity may be there for a true breakout performance Saturday.

#1. Was last week's defensive performance a fluke?
After losing three key starters to injury, there was much concern headed into the Florida State game. However, after giving up barely 200 yards in total offense maybe this unit still has the ability to shutdown the opposition. Defensive coordinator Vic Koenning admitted last week that Florida State's offense did plenty to help him out. What about this week?
