Bowers Back at Clemson This Weekend?

Junior standout Daquan Bowers has been in Death Valley already this season to watch his former teammate Ricky Sapp play for the Tigers. Will he be back for this weekend's important ACC battle between No. 12 Clemson and No. 13 Georgia Tech? CUTigers.com has the latest on one of the nation's top junior prospects in the country in this recruiting update.

DL Daquan Bowers Profile

When CUTigers.com caught up with Bamberg Ehrhardt defensive lineman Daquan Bowers on Sunday, something was clearly different.

He had Tiger Rag as the song on his voicemail.

"Yeah, I just put that on their today. I just like the song," Bowers said. "I will be there at Clemson this weekend. I am going up with one of my coaches."

Former Bamberg-Ehrhardt standout Ricky Sapp spent the weekend with his former teammate as he had a few days off from practice.

"I was with Ricky this weekend. He came to the game Friday night. We sat down and talked a while this weekend," he said. "He tried hard to get me to commit but I'm not quite ready."

The prize recruit put on an impressive performance for his former teammate Friday night.

"I had one touchdown, one sack, and three tackles for loss," he said. "I broke a long run at fullback and got caught at the ten. The next play I pounded it in for a touchdown. We beat the No. 1 1-A team (Blackville-Hilda) in the state. We broke their 44 game regular season winning streak."

So when will Bowers be ready to make the all-important verbal commitment?

"I want to take some visits first," he said. "I am really not sure when right about now. I am hearing from Notre Dame, Louisville, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Virginia, West Virginia and others."

Bowers already has 13 sacks on the year for Bamberg-Ehrhardt.
