Tigers Making Push for 4-Star DE

One of the top defensive ends on the east coast has several ACC schools at the top of list. After Clemson's 31-7 thrashing of Georgia Tech last Saturday, the Tigers are making a late push. CUTigers.com has the latest in this recruiting update.

DE Tony Tucker Profile

Tony Tucker, a 6-3, 225 pound defensive end prospect had another outstanding performance this weekend for St. Johns High (Va).

"We did pretty well this week. We could have done better in the first half, but we scored 26 in the 3rd quarter. I had a lot of catches on offense. On defense I had three sacks and a forced fumble," Tucker told CUTigers.com.

Two of Tucker's favorites battled Saturday night when Clemson whipped the Jackets.

"I didn't get a chance to catch it on television because I was so busy. I did tune in on my cell phone to follow the game," he said.

Tucker also said he's set to visit Clemson officially during the traditional big recruiting weekend in early January.

"I am probably going to visit Clemson in January for their big weekend. It is the second week of January I think. I need to talk with coach Rumph and coach Ford to firm things up," he said. "I already have visits penciled in for Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh and Georgia Tech."

If today was signing day where would Tucker sign?

"I would go to Georgia Tech right now," he said. But I really want to give Clemson a look before I make a decision."

The Good news for Tiger fans is that Tucker plans to wait to make a decision until after his visit in January.

"I think I am going to wait until after I visit Clemson to make my decision," said Tucker. "I may also take a fifth visit. I am waiting to get down to Clemson. I want to see what they have to offer.

"I have been to Clemson once but it was at night and I didn't really get to see everything. I went down and visited with coach Ford and coach Rumph last summer."
