At 5-foot-10 and 184 pounds, running back Rodney Kinlaw had a very impressive showing at Clemson's summer camp. "I ran a 4.36 at Clemson," he said. "It went really well. I also went to camps at USC and Virginia Tech and really enjoyed those as well." The talented running back has seven scholarship offers right now, including some of his current favorites.
Last season Rodney carried the football 172 times for 1094 yards and 9 touchdowns, and he also was a standout kick off returner for his team, the Stratford Knights. He was also named to the All-Low Country team by the Post & Courier out of Charleston.
"The schools I'm looking at are Penn State, Northwestern, Virginia Tech, Clemson, and N.C State," said Kinlaw. "Penn State, Clemson, and Virginia Tech have offered."
In terms of favorites, Kinlaw still hasn't mentioned any one school ahead of the others. "I really don't have one," he said. "They're all pretty much even. I want to take visits to those five schools and then find out what I'm going to do."
The Tigers were the first school to offer Kinlaw, but Virginia Tech could be a school moving in for services. "It was real nice there (at Virginia Tech)," he said. "I like the program they have built and the coaches are really nice. That's one of the places I'll go on a visit to."
Kinlaw is projected as a full qualifier with a GPA of 3.0. We will continue to keep you updated one of South Carolina's fastest backs throughout the upcoming season.
