Tuesday was the day that 4-star safety DeAndre McDaniel has been waiting on for several months.
"I qualified. I got my test score today. I got the score I needed on my SAT," McDaniel told CUTigers.com late Tuesday evening. "I talked to coach Swinney and coach Bowden earlier today. They were excited. They just told me they can't wait for me to get here. They told me to come in ready to work hard and compete."
The future Tiger safety will arrive at Clemson shortly after the start of the new year.
"The NCAA won't let you practice for the bowl game any more so I will just join the team in January. I will be up there when school starts in January," McDaniel said.
The former Godby (Fla.) standout will move in a few months late with the roommates he hoped to have over the summer.
"I think I am still going to have the same roommates. I will be rooming with C.J. Spiller, Kevin Alexander and Kendrick Johnson," he added.
