Will Clemson Offer Hargrave Speedster?

The Clemson coaching staff would like to add a running back to their impressive recruiting class before signing day. Two Tiger coaches visited with one of the nation's top prep running backs earlier this week. CUTigers.com spoke with the Hargrave standout and we've got the latest in this recruiting update.

RB Demetrice Goode Profile

Demetrice Goode, a 5-11, 205 pound running back prospect had a visit earlier this week from Clemson assistant coaches Dabo Swinney and Chris Rumph at the Hargrave Military Academy.

"I talked to coach Rumph from Clemson," Goode told CUTigers.com in a recent interview. "That was about the only coach I talked to. We just talked about the days he was at Memphis and how he recruited me there."

Goode is a current commitment to Kentucky, but is still looking around when it comes to a final decision.

"Yes right now I am committed to Kentucky," he said. "It is a soft verbal commit. I am going to try so see if some other schools are interested."

The Tigers have not offered the Hargrave speedster, but if they do, there's a great opportunity to move into the lead for his services.

"Clemson has not offered yet," he said. 'But if Clemson would offer I would take a visit to Clemson. Coach Rumph told me he would get back with me. Obviously I know DeAndre (McDaniel). Dre is my boy. We have become close."

What type of running back is Goode?

"I don't really compare myself to anybody," he said. "I am just me. I guess you could say I have speed, but I can also run over people," replied the talented running back.

"I was clocked at 4.32 in the 40. That was timed here earlier this year."
