Shrine Bowl Update: Chris Culliver

ROEBUCK, S.C. - With at least nine players from this year's Shrine Bowl heading to Clemson next year, it's not surprising to learn that North Carolina native Chris Culliver is already hearing where he needs to sign come February.

DB Chris Culliver Profile

How did this morning's practice go?
Culliver: So far it is great. It is a good experience for me to get me ready to go to the college level next year.

Will you get a chance to play both ways this week?
Culliver: I am going to try to get in on some offense this week, but I am not going to push myself into anything. It is up to the coaches. I can't backtalk or anything like that because this is a whole different level. Whatever I can do to help my team out that is what I am here to do.

How different is the talent level out here this week compared to what you are used to seeing?
Culliver: I know I can step my game up like I have been doing. I had an interception out here today. It is not really a big deal. You just need to hustle to the ball and do things like that.

How did you enjoy the visit to the Shriner's Hospital on Sunday?
Culliver: It was real good. When we took the picture I got to hold the little man Austin so it was fun.

Is the large group of Clemson commits working you hard this week for Clemson?
Culliver: Yeah they are. I saw coach Rumph and coach Napier out here today if I'm not mistaken.

Are you getting any closer to making a commitment?
Culliver: Yeah I will try to determine things after this. Then I have the game in Fort Lauderdale then I will plan to take my visits and see how things pan out. I will wait until January to make a decision.

What are your goals for this week?
Culliver: I just want to play hard and hopefully I will be the defensive MVP.
