QB Willy Korn Profile

How does it feel to get a chance to actually play with so many of your future Clemson teammates this week?
Korn: It is great. It is something that I have been looking forward to since the season ended. It is good to be able to get on the field with great athletes like Markish Jones. Even the ones that aren't going to Clemson. It is fun to hand the ball off to Brian Maddox and watch him try to make plays.

How did you enjoy your official visit to Clemson last week?
Korn: It was a lot of fun. It was great. Will Proctor was my host. I spent a lot of time with him. I learned a lot from him. I got to spend of time with Landon Walker, Brian Linthicum and Xavier also.

What was the highlight of the visit last week?
Korn: The highlight to me was when we went into the locker room and they had our jerseys hanging up on the wall and then put those on. I got a picture of that. That was the highlight for me.

Have Marcus Gilchrist and Landon Walker been talking a little bit of trash this week?
Korn: A little bit but they know what is going to happen to them this week. They know South Carolina is going to come out and put some points on the board. They have some great athletes. Going up against our defense is killing my confidence (laughing). Scotty Cooper is all over the place. Right now the defense is a little ahead of the offense. Hopefully by Wednesday or Thursday we will start jelling as an offense.

Which other guys are you recruiting for Clemson this week?
Korn: [WR] Dwight Jones the big receiver who is committed to North Carolina is one. I have been trying to talk to him. It is hard to talk much with those guys because they have us pretty much completely separated, even though we stay in the same hotel. That is the first time I have ever seen Dwight in person. He is so tall and he just looks like a good athlete. I talked to him a little bit in the elevator the other day. He said he was going to come to Clemson for a visit. I want to talk with Ryan Houston and Chris Culliver as well. I haven't had a chance to yet. We are really after those guys and it would be huge to sign those guys.

How did you enjoy the hospital visit on Sunday?
Korn: That was great for me. They had three guys from each team selected outside the bus to go to the Carolina Panthers stadium to accept a check for the Shrine Bowl. I told them I didn't want to go. I let someone else go in my place because I wanted to go to the hospital. I had heard a lot about it and I wanted to go experience it for myself. It really puts everything in perspective for you as a person. When you go to the hospital and see the kids that can barely walk it really puts things in perspective for you. It makes you really appreciate how fortunate you are.
