Clemson vs. Georgia Tech Series
•Georgia Tech has a 55-52 lead in the series with Clemson. Clemson swept the two games series last year, the first time since 1996-97 that Clemson won the season series from Georgia Tech with a sweep.

•Tech swept Clemson in Paul Hewitt's first year at Georgia Tech (2000-01), the first time the Yellow Jackets had swept the Tigers since 1985-86. Tech swept Clemson three of the first five years Hewitt had been at Tech and the Yellow Jacket mentor is 8-4 against Clemson with a 4-2 record at home and 4-2 record in Littlejohn Coliseum.

•Clemson has a 33-15 lead in games played at Clemson and a 26-8 margin in games in Littlejohn Coliseum. Clemson has won 15 of the last 21 between the two teams played at Clemson. Clemson has 26 wins over Tech, tied with Furman for the most wins in the building over an opponent.

•The two teams played a road-win split series in 2001-02. But this has been a hometeam series, perhaps the most home-teamdominated series in the ACC the last 20 years. The home team has won 30 of the last 40 meetings. Ironically, twice during this time there has been a road win season split, 1992-93 and in 2001-02.

•Clemson recorded a sweep in 1996- 97, Clemson's Sweet 16 NCAA Tournament season under Rick Barnes. Clemson won 55-53 in Atlanta that year on Georgia Tech's Senior Day. Last year Clemson completed a sweep on Shawan Robinson's Senior Day.

•Clemson has just five wins at Georgia Tech in the last 22 years. That includes the victory last year, and the win in 2001-02. The 55-53 win in 1996-97, the 83-80 win in 1992-93 and the 67-66 win in 1986-87 are the others. Overall, Clemson is 18-38 in games played at Tech.

•There has been a home team victory season split 13 times since 1982-83. •Tech entered the ACC in 1979-80. Since that season the teams have met 56 times and Clemson has a 29-27 lead in those 56 contests. Clemson won the first six games in the series when Tech joined the ACC. Tech is the only team Clemson has beaten in the first conference meeting.

•Clemson won 14 in a row in the series from 1971-72 to 1981-82. Tech began play in the ACC in 1979-80, so some of those games were non-conference games.

• Clemson is coming off a 68-66 win at Florida State last Wednesday. It was just the ninth time in Clemson history that the Tigers won their first ACC road game of the year.

• Clemson will be looking to go 2-0 in the ACC for the first time since the 1996-97 season. That year Clemson opened 5-0 in the ACC.

• Clemson has a 15-0 record, the second longest winning streak in school history and the second longest winning streak to open a season. The Tigers were 17-0 to open the 1986-87 season.

• Clemson is ranked 18th in USA Today and 23rd in Associated Press. The #18 ranking is Clemson's highest since December 28,1998 when the Tigers were 14 in AP and 16 in USA Today.

• Clemson forward James Mays has played in 26 consecutive Clemson victories, the first 11 games of last year and all 15 games this year. He is currently seventh in the ACC in rebounding, third in steals, seventh in field goal percentage, 10th in blocked shots and fifth in offensive rebounds.

• Forcing turnovers and rebounding will be key stats to watch in this game. Tech and Clemson rank 1-2 in the ACC in steals per game and the two teams are second and fourth, respectively, in rebound margin.

• K.C. Rivers has scored in double figures in every game this year even though he has not started. His 15-game streak of consecutive double figure scoring games as a reserve is a Clemson record, breaking the previous record of seven in a row by Dale Davis in 1988-89.

• Clemson swept Georgia Tech last year, the first time Clemson swept the Yellow Jackets in a season series since 1996-97.

• Cliff Hammonds, who scored the winning field goal with 2.8 seconds left in the win over Florida State, played 37 minutes without a turnover against the Seminoles and now leads the ACC in assist/turnover ratio (2.84).

• Clemson freshman Trevor Booker has blocked at least one shot and is fifth in the ACC in blocks per game. He is shooting a team best 63 percent from the field and is 10th in the ACC in rebounding (6.9).

• Vernon Hamilton is coming off a 19-point game in the win at Florida State. The senior went ahead of Vincent Hamilton (no relation) on the all-time assist list in the win over Florida State (339). Top Stories
