Several media outlets in Florida reported Tuesday that Clemson freshman running back C.J. Spiller was considering a transfer to Florida.
After a brief team meeting Tuesday afternoon, Spiller met with running backs coach Burton Burns and head coach Tommy Bowden to discuss the situation.
After the meeting with Bowden a decision was announced regarding his future with the Clemson football program.
"After talking with his mother, C.J. Spiller has decided to remain at Clemson," said Bowden in a prepared statement.
Spiller, who came to Clemson as one of the top running backs in the country a year ago, rushed 914 yards on just 124 carries during his freshman season.
Spiller was not made available for comment.
