Branch Discusses Clemson Commitment

Andre Branch spoke with CUTigers.com shortly after his commitment to the Tigers. Will the Tiger commit still take his planned visits to Florida and Florida State? How did his parents react to the big news? CUTigers.com has all the answers in this recruiting update.

"I committed right after they said they were going to offer me a scholarship. They were very happy. They said they can't wait to have me in the program," Branch told CUTigers.com.

"I told coach Rumph and then I spoke with coach Bowden. Coach Bowden said this is one of the best commitments he has ever gotten."

Why did Branch commit to the Tigers?

"The atmosphere is great at Clemson. The coaches are very cool. Football is a big family at Clemson. I just felt like I was at home," replied the talented defensive end.

"I came down by myself this weekend. I called my parents to give them the news."

What was the reaction of Branch's parents?

"They said, 'thank god.' They were very excited," replied Branch.

The Virginia standout has planned to take several other official visits including Florida and Florida State, but those plans could change.

"I want to talk to my parents first," he said. I will probably go to Florida and Florida State. I have those visits scheduled, but I will have to see."

How firm is Branch with his commitment to the Tigers?

"I would say I am about 90 percent," he added.
