Another defender joined the parade of verbal commitments to Clemson Saturday afternoon when he told the staff he wanted to be a Tiger. has the latest in this recruiting update.

Saturday afternoon around lunchtime, Brandon Maye, a 6-3, 230 pound linebacker committed to Clemson. Maye became the third player to commit to the Tigers on Saturday.

Brandon's father spoke with shortly afterwards.

"Clemson is a very good school," he said. "They have a great academic program with great support. That is one of the big reasons Brandon decided to go ahead and commit to Clemson. "Clemson has a great campus and it is a great atmosphere to attend college. Tommy Bowden is a great coach and Clemson has a great defensive staff."

The prize recruit is a cousin of former Tiger fullback Emory Smith.
