DE Byron Clear Profile
After landing four verbal commitments on Saturday, the Clemson coaching staff picked right up where they left on Sunday when defensive end Byron Clear committed to the Tigers.
"The school sold itself," Clear told CUTigers.com Sunday morning. "The athletics and academics are both great at Clemson. I just couldn't resist. I got that feeling."
Byron also said he ultimately reached his decision on Saturday, but he wanted extra time to think things through.
"I told the coaches at 10:00 AM [today]," he said. "I just wanted to pray about it. I told the coaches yesterday that I was 99.9% but I wanted to be sure.
"Everybody that came down here Friday committed. They are all pretty cool guys. It is like one big happy family here.
"I feel like I can excel on and off the field at Clemson. They made my brother and me feel right at home."
Clear, who has a twin brother Brandon committed to Clemson on Saturday, was recruited to Clemson by assistant coach Dabo Swinney.
Both brothers said they are done with the recruiting process and will take no more official visits.
