WR Markish Jones Profile

The 6-1, 190 pound speedster returned Sunday from an official visit at Florida State.

"I had a great time. I really liked the new coaching staff," Jones told CUTigers.com. The Clemson staff will visit Jones two times this week.

"Coach Bowden is coming to the house on Thursday," Jones said. "Coach Blackwell came by the school early this morning. He told me he is a little nervous with me taking the other visits but he knows where my heart is.

"Coach Saban is coming today. He is having some delays, but he will be here."

When asked about his commitment status with Clemson, Jones responded, "I would say I it is still a soft verbal."

If today were signing day where would the Palmetto standout sign?

"Right now it would be Clemson," Jones replied.

Jones will continue his official visits this weekend, but he will drop one of his remaining visits.

"I am going to Tennessee this weekend. I am going to Alabama on February 2. I don't think I am going to go to Kentucky. I am going to call them tonight and tell them I have no interest," he said.

What will it take for another school to pull ahead of the Tigers?

"It would take a better opportunity for playing time," he said. "Clemson is telling me I have a chance to play early. I am trying to figure out right now if I have a better opportunity somewhere else.

"I will make my final decision on signing day. I will make my official announcement then."

How do Jones' parents feel about his college destination?

"They just want what is best for me," he added.
