Bowden Visits 4-star Corner

DB Ryan Williams Profile

Coach Bowden and coach Koenning traveled to Alabama today to meet with one of the nation's top cornerbacks.

"It went real well," said Williams. "They came by school first and then they came by my house. Coach Bowden he is a real cool man. We had a lot of fun. He got here about 5 and left right a little after 6.

"We talked about how they needed me at Clemson. How they want me to step in and make big plays."

When asked about the status of his commitment to Auburn, Williams said, "Auburn is till in the lead. I haven't been to Clemson yet so I will know more after I visit."

The Alabama standout knows he will be a Tiger on signing day; the only question is which kind.

"Right now I am about 75 percent Auburn and 25 percent Clemson. It is just those two," he said.

Could the visit to Clemson this weekend give the Tigers the lead?

"The visit could change things," Williams said. "We will have to see how it goes. I am coming up with my mom, dad and my brother.

"I will make my final decision on signing day." Coach Vic has been working hard to convince the 4-star prospect that he could play early at Clemson.

"Me and coach Vic are real cool," added Williams. "We have an understanding of where I will play if I decide to come to Clemson. He wants me to come in and start at the field corner position."
