Junior QB Planning Clemson Visit

One of the top junior quarterbacks on Clemson's board will take an unofficial visit to Tigertown soon to spend some time with the coaching staff. Could a verbal commitment to the Tigers also be in the works? CUTigers.com has the latest in this recruiting update.

QB Kyle Parker Profile

Head coach Tommy Bowden visited Jacksonville, Fla. earlier in January to see junior standout quarterback Kyle Parker.

"Two weeks ago coach Bowden and coach Swinney came down to see me," Parker told CUTigers.com in a recent interview. "They came by the school. They also watched me play baseball."

Several other schools have visited Bartram Trail standout over the past few weeks.

"The coaches from Georgia Tech came down last week," he said. "Coach Spurrier Jr. was down last week as well from South Carolina.

"I don't have any new offers. Florida State is recruiting me a lot harder right now. Georgia Tech is still recruiting me hard as well. Alabama is not recruiting me as hard since they had their coaching change."

When asked about his current leader in the recruiting process, Parker responded, "Clemson is my leader right now. I haven't committed yet. I am not sure how much longer I will wait. It will probably be this spring or possibly this summer."

Parker also said he plans to visit Clemson soon so ehe can sit down with the coaching staff.

"Me and my dad want to go up and spend some time just sitting down talking with coach Spence and coach Bowden at one time," he said. "We were going to try to go up this weekend. I'm not sure if it will be this weekend or some other weekend yet.

"We also want to talk with the baseball coach. I may want to play baseball as well. We are trying to work out the baseball situation."

When will the dual threat quarterback be ready to pull the trigger on a commitment?

"I couldn't really tell you. It just seems that recruiting will likely pickup for me once schools finish with this year's class. I told coach Swinney when he was down here that I feel really comfortable with Clemson right now. I just want to take a little time and make sure I am making the right decision," replied Parker.

Parker picked up his offer from Clemson last summer when he impressed coach Spence at camp.

"I am going to try to get up for the 7-on-7 at Clemson this year. I also plan to go to the individual camp," Parker added.
