RB Toquavius Gilchrist Profile
Toquavius Gilchrist, a 6-2, 195 pound running back prospect out of Abbeville High School, is already hearing from several top programs around the southeast.
"I am hearing from Clemson, Wake Forest, Georgia, South Carolina and Notre Dame," he said. "Georgia is my favorite right now. I have always liked Georgia. Clemson is my favorite in-state. They would be second right now behind Georgia.
"Clemson has talked about offering. I'm not sure yet about the others."
What will Gilchrist consider when selecting a school?
"I will be looking at academics first. Then I will look at the football program. I want to see how I interact with people at the school.
Gilchrist was a frequent visitor to Death Valley last fall.
"When I went to Clemson this year it was real good. I went to a lot of games and got to see the campus and the facilities. I felt real comfortable there. I made it to three games last year. I will be back there this fall."
Gilchrist also says he'll likely visit both of his favorites later this summer.
"I didn't go to any camps last summer. I plan to go to some camps this summer. I plan to go to Clemson and Georgia," he said.
Don't expect an early commitment from the Palmetto standout.
"I will wait until later this year. I will hopefully have a decision between the fall and the end of the season."
What are Gilchrist's strengths on the field?
"I would say one of my strengths is my ability to break tackles. I also have the ability to see the field.
"This year I just want to work on my speed and my strength."
