Tigers Offer Florida DT

The Clemson Tigers are one of early offers for one of the top defensive tackles in Florida. Can the Tigers convince the star defender to leave the Sunshine state? CUTigers.com has the latest in this recruiting update.

DT Micanor Regis Profile

Pahokee High (Fla.) star defensive tackle Micanor Regis is building an impressive offer list through the early stages of the recruiting process.

In a recent interview with CUTigers.com, Regis said, "I have offers from Miami, Florida, Florida State, South Carolina, Virginia Tech and Clemson.

"Florida State and Miami are probably recruiting me the hardest right now."

Several other Pahokee prospects are also being recruited, but playing with his teammates is not a priority.

"It all depends," he said. "I just want to go where I might go he might not be comfortable. It would be nice to play together, but I will go where it is best for me."

What will Regis consider when selecting a school?

"I am just looking for somewhere that I feel comfortable with the environment. Distance won't really matter. I just want to find where I am comfortable and where I can get early playing time," replied the talented defender.

Don't expect an early commitment from the Florida standout. "I want to see what all of my options are. I don't plan to make a decision until next year. Right now I'm looking at some camps but I am not really sure. I may not even go to any camps, but I don't know yet."

Regis currently stands in at 6-feet-3 inches tall and 296 pounds. He was also clocked at 5.25 in the 40-yard dash at a Scout.com Combine last year.

As a junior Regis recorded 47 tackles, including 30 for loss and 13 sacks.
