S Darrell Simmons Profile

The offer list is growing by the day for 6-1, 185 pound safety Darrell Simmons.

"I picked up three offers this week," Simmons told CUTigers.com in a recent interview. "Clemson, Ole Miss and Georgia offered. I called coach Rumph from Clemson and he offered.

"I also have offers from Virginia Tech, Auburn, Florida, Purdue, Maryland, Duke and Alabama. I am hearing from Miami, Tennessee, Georgia Tech, LSU, Ohio State and Oklahoma. There are also some others."

When asked about his current favorites, Simmons responded, "Right now I like Florida and Alabama. I like the facilities and the coaching staffs at both schools. I also like the atmosphere."

What will the prize recruit consider when picking a college?

"I am looking for a school where I can get a good education," he said. "I really want to go where I can compete for a national championship. I also want to find a place that my family and coaches will like.

"I will probably wait until next year though before I make a commitment. You never know what will happen."

The strengths are numerous for Simmons.

"I have good instincts. I also am explosive. I show my athleticism out there on the field," stated Simmons.

Simmons finished his junior year for Banneker High School with 80 total tackles, including eight for loss.
