GA ATH Loves Clemson Visit

One of Georgia's top prospects told CUTigers.com he is ready to commit to the Tigers after visiting Clemson Saturday afternoon. CUTigers.com has the latest in this recruiting update.

DeRon Furr Profile

Carver High's Deron Furr traveled to Clemson Saturday with his mother and teammate Jarmon Fortson.

"It went good," he said. "I really had a good time. I really liked the town. It is a nice college town. I couldn't get in too much trouble there."

What was the highlight of the visit for Furr?

"It was the academics. The other schools haven't said much about academics. I liked the academic center a lot. They told us how the tutoring is mandatory," replied Furr.

The Tigers did not offer during the visit, but Furr believes one could be on the way.

"Coach Napier told me they want to check our transcripts to see how much we have matured since our freshman year. He said they would offer then," he said.

Furr is ready to commit to the Tigers if they offer.

"I think we will both end up committing there. We really like it a lot," he said. "I loved the weight room. I also loved the locker room. They said by the time we get up there the locker room will be new. It is already nice. The new one must be incredible."

Deron's mother also left Tigertown very impressed with what Clemson had to offer.

"She liked it a lot," said Furr. "She was really impressed with the academic program. Then on top of that Clemson is also real good in sports."
