For the past few months, Abbeville running Qua-Qua Gilchrist listed the Georgia Bulldogs as his favorite school, but as of Mar. 20, there is a new leader.

"Clemson is my leader right now," Gilchrist told CUTigers.com in a recent interview. "I think Clemson has a great program. I have a good chance to play early there."

The Tigers will also get a visit from the top running back in a few weeks.

"Yeah I am going to visit Clemson during my spring break. My spring break is the second week of April," stated Gilchrist.

Gilchrist said he had the opportunity to check out South Carolina earlier this month.

"I actually went to South Carolina's Junior Day. I liked it a lot. I took some pictures for the nominations for the U.S. Army game while I was in Columbia," said Gilchrist. "Next I am going to Tennessee for Junior Day on March 31. I will be going to Georgia for their spring game on April 14."

Several other schools are also showing strong interest in Gilchrist.

"I don't have any new offers. I am hearing a lot from Clemson, Marshall, Georgia, South Carolina, Florida and Tennessee," said Gilchrist. "I want to make my decision around mid summer. It will be right before the season at the latest."

Which team is recruiting Gilchrist the hardest right now?

"Clemson is right now," replied Gilchrist.

As a junior, Gilchrist rushed 170 times for 1450 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Clemson assistant coach Ron West is recruiting Gilchrist for the Tigers.
