Tigers Offer Top DE for Two Sports

The Clemson Tigers have offered one of the top prospects in North Carolina for two sports. Who are the current favorites for football? Does the two sport standout plan to play both sports in college? CUTigers.com has all the answers in this recruiting update.

The Clemson Tigers have offered 6-6, 230 pound prospect Quinton Coples for two sports.

"Clemson has offered me for both football and basketball," he said. "They are the only one to do that so far. State is working on it they say."

The talented athlete plans to play both sports at least for a year in college.

"I just said that I would play both my first year. Then I will determine what I want to do after my freshman year. It will more than likely be football," said Coples.

The Kinston standout already has a very impressive offer list for football.

"I don't really have any new offers. Right now I have offers from North Carolina State, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Clemson and Alabama. I also have an offer from Alabama," stated Coples.

When asked about his favorites, Coples responded, "My top four would be Florida, Carolina, North Carolina State and East Carolina."

The Heels will get a visit from the prize recruit this weekend.

"I am going to Carolina this Saturday. That is all I have planned right now," said Coples.

The summer will be filled with visits including a stop in Tigertown.

"Basically I am going to try to see them all this summer," said Coples. "I am going to Florida. I want to visit Clemson. I know I will go to State and Virginia Tech. I am not sure which ones I will go to camp and which ones I will just visit."

The commitment timing has changed for the star defender.

"I was going to make a decision earlier," he said. "Now I think I will probably want to make it during my season. It will be toward the middle or end of my season," said Coples.
