NIT: Purnell Discusses Air Force, MSG

NEW YORK - Clemson head coach Oliver Purnell met with the media Monday morning in New York.

"We talked about that with our team, trying to play as long as we possibly can. If you do that you can accomplish some special things. Getting to New York and having an opporutnity to play in Madison Square Garden and putting champion by your name. In order to do all that, you have to win a bunch games and if we do that, we will set our school's record for all-time wins. So there are so many things to play for.

"We just have to go out and try to guard and contest shots because they are excellent shooters. Then we have to keep them off the glass. As we run our offense, we can't be so concerned with what they are in as opposed to playing good fundamental basketball. Both teams will be prepared for the other. Our styles are different. I think the team that plays the best defensively and shoots the best will win." Top Stories
