Crucial Visit Coming for Clemson

The Clemson staff has been trying to get one of the top linemen in the South to visit Tigertown with both of his parents since last fall. This week they will finally get their wish. has all the details in this recruiting update.

Future 5-star offensive lineman A.J. Harmon will make an unofficial visit to Clemson on Wednesday, has learned.

"I am going to Clemson on Wednesday," Harmon told in a recent interview. "I am going up for the day. They are going to show me everything."

Clemson assistant coach Billy Napier has been trying to get A.J. to Clemson with both of his parents since last fall.

"My mom and dad will be coming with me," he said. "I have been trying to get my dad to Clemson for the longest time. Finally he gets to come with me."

The Florida Gators received a visit from Harmon and one of his teammates this weekend.

"I went to Florida this weekend. It was a nice visit. One of my coaches came with me and my outside linebacker. Our running back was going to come, but he couldn't make the trip," he said.

When asked if he has a leader, Harmon responded, "Well, it is kind of yes and king of no. My top three right now would be Clemson, Florida and Georgia.

"All of them are pretty good schools. It is a hard decision. All of them are good programs to go to. I can't go wrong with the decision."

The prize recruit still plans to wait a good while before making a final decision.

"It will probably be after the season," stated Harmon.

After the visit to Clemson on Wednesday, Harmon doesn't have any other visits planned. "That will be about it. I am going to take it easy for a while," said Harmon.

The talented athlete is showing his athleticism on the track this spring.

"I am doing the shot and the disc right now," he said. "That is going pretty good. I came in 3rd place last week in the disc." Top Stories
