Peach State DT Delaying His Decision?

The Clemson Tigers appeared to be set to get a commitment from one of the top defensive tackles in the southeast before the end of May. Is that still the case today?

With two new major scholarship offers coming over the past month, defensive tackle Brandon Thompson has changed his expected time of announcing a verbal commitment.

"I am still getting pretty close," Thompson told CUTigers.com in a recent interview. "I am going to wait a little longer. I want to take a couple more visits before I make my decision. I just want to see everything before I make my decision."

Florida State and Miami have both offered Thompson during the past month.

"Basically I want to visit Florida State and Miami before I make my final decision. I am going to Florida State this weekend. I am not sure when I will get to Miami," said Thompson.

The Tigers have been a strong leader for the Georgia standout most of the spring. Do the Tigers still hold the lead for one of the top defensive tackles on their board today?

"Yes, Clemson is still my leader," replied Thompson. "I should be ready in early June."

Clemson will get another chance to make another push for the prize recruit when he camps at Clemson in just a few weeks.

"I plan on going to camp at Clemson. I am probably going to go to the first session on June 10," stated Thompson.
