DB Makiri Pugh Profile
Later this week Independence standout Makiri Pugh will announce his commitment. The 6-0, 180 pound star cornerback told CUTigers.com Sunday afternoon an announce will come on June 1.
"I am making my commitment on Friday," he said. "I am looking at setting up a press conference, but nothing is set yet. It will be something after school."
Three schools are battling for the top cornerback from Independence.
"It is going to be Clemson, Georgia Tech or Georgia. I am down to those three," said Pugh.
Does the prize recruit already have a decision?
"I have kind of made it. I have pretty much made up my mind," replied Pugh.
Clemson assistant coach/recruiting coordinator Billy Napier and the other finalists are making a strong late push.
"I am definitely getting a hard push from coach Napier and Clemson and from Georgia Tech," he said.
What are the deciding factors for the talented defender?
"It is just the same stuff. I am looking for the school that has something to offer me in all aspects. I am looking at football of course. I am also looking at academics and the overall environment," said Pugh.
Another visit was squeezed in over the holiday weekend.
"I have been in Virginia for the weekend," he said. "I visited Virginia while I was up there. I mainly just spent time with family."
