DL Donte Rumph Profile

6-3, 250 pound defensive end Donte Rumph told CUTigers.com in a recent interview to plan his summer visit tour.

"I am trying to see what my practice schedule looks like the summer," he said. "Then I will decide when I can go to some schools. I want to go to some. I am just not sure when I will be able to."

The chances of the star defensive lineman wearing orange are good right now.

"I have offers from Clemson and Tennessee," stated Rumph. "They are all even. Clemson and Tennessee are even."

What does he like most about both schools?

Tennessee: "I love the stadium at Tennessee. I like how loud it is around the campus."

Clemson: "I like the fact that it is a small campus. I can focus more on academics and football."

The Palmetto standout plans to wait until next year to make a decision.

"It will be close to signing day. I want to keep my options open," stated Rumph.

What will be important to the prize recruit when he selects a school?

"I will look at the academics. I will look at the graduation rates. I will see if they have my major, but I haven't decided yet what I want to major in. Of course I will look at the football program," replied Rumph.

"I haven't been on any visits lately. I have just been staying here and lifting weights," said Rumph.

Of course, Clemson coach Chris Rumph is Donte's uncle. He is doing his best to support his nephew in the recruiting process, but would love to see him join him in Tigertown.

"I say he is a big factor. He supports me not matter what my decision is, but he tries to persuade me to come up there. There is a lot of pressure," said Rumph.
