Clemson placed three baseball players on the 2007 All-ACC Academic team following a season that saw the Tigers advance to the NCAA Tournament for the 21st straight season, including an appearance in the Starkville (MS) Super Regional.
Freshman outfielder Alex Lee (mathematical sciences), junior lefthander Daniel Moskos (health science), and sophomore righthander Matt Vaughn (management) were all named to the list.
Lee hit .288 in 37 games (nine starts) and came on late in the season to provide an important bat in the Tiger lineup. He also had a .413 on-base percentage and did not commit an error in 17 chances.
Moskos was the #4 overall pick of the Major League Draft in June after he was 3-6 with a 3.29 ERA in 79.1 innings pitched in 2007. He also struck out 78 and totaled six saves.
Vaughn had a 4-0 record and 2.75 ERA in 16 appearances (one start) in 2007. In 39.1 innings pitched, he allowed just one homer and 14 walks with 37 strikeouts.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.0 GPA for the previous semester and maintained a 3.0 cumulative GPA during his academic career.
