RB Eric Smith Profile

4-star running back Eric Smith will visit two of his top schools in the next few weeks, including a visit to Clemson.

"I am planning to visit Clemson and Auburn," Smith told CUTigers.com in a recent interview. "I am going to Auburn on July 14th. I am going to Clemson on July 27th."

When asked about his current favorites in the recruiting process, Smith responded, "My favorites are probably Miami, Auburn, Clemson and Florida."

Smith said he also plans to hold off on making a decision on his college destination.

"I really don't know when I will make my decision. I am just waiting it out to see what happens. It will probably be after my season," stated the star running back.

What will be important to Smith when he selects his college destination?

"The first thing will be my family. I want to play where they can come see me play. Then I will look at how I feel about the school," replied Smith.

Does the fact that it is important for his family to be able to see you play give the Florida schools an advantage?

"Yeah, it would," said Smith.

Between visits the Florida standout is working out to prepare for his senior season.

"I am just working out really. I think I may go to another camp, but I am not sure," said Smith.

Smith missed most of his junior season with a fractured left elbow. In four games he had 550 yards rushing and 12 touchdowns. He benches 325 pounds, squats 545 and has a 30-inch vertical jump.

Clemson defensive line coach Chris Rumph is recruiting Smith for the Tigers.
