ATH Larry Raper Profile

5-10, 160 pound rising junior Larry Raper had the fastest 40 time at any of the Scout.com combines earlier this year. The talented athlete, who can play running back, receiver or cornerback, visited Clemson on Wednesday along with his father.

"It was good," Raper told CUTigers.com after the visit. "They offered me. I did not commit yet. I think I am going to commit though."

What prevented the rising junior from making a commitment during the visit?

"My dad just wants to sit down and talk about it before I commit. I am ready to commit whenever he says. I am just waiting for my dad," replied Raper.

The highlight of the day was seeing the academic support program at Clemson.

"My dad really wanted to see the academic part. They took us to see Vickery Hall. I really liked how they have all of the tutoring," said Raper.

"I got to meet C.J. Spiller. I also met a lot of the other players," said Raper. "We also talked to coach Bowden and coach Napier. Coach Bowden talked about doing well in school. He also talked about church. My dad was real interested in that."

Larry's father really enjoyed the visit to Tigertown.

"He liked it as well. He liked how the community is so close. It doesn't take much to get around to everything," said Raper.

When does the Shelby (N.C.) standout expect to make his commitment to the Tigers?

"I think it will be soon, real soon," replied Raper.

Last season Raper rushed 98 times for 718 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also caught 17 passes for 466 yards and five more scores.
