Tigers Offer SC WR

After an impressive performance at Clemson's 7-on-7 tournament earlier this summer, the Tigers have offered another one of South Carolina's top receivers. Which other teams are recruiting the Palmetto state playmaker? CUTigers.com has the latest in this recruiting update.

WR Branden Ford Profile

Earlier this week the Clemson coaching staff offered 6-4, 200 pound wide receiver prospect Branden Ford, out of Hanahan, S.C.

"They told me through my coach they were going to offer me," Ford told CUTigers.com. "It all happened on Tuesday. It was one of the greatest moments of my life. I was so excited to get my first offer.

"I was just happy and surprised. I am really excited about going to see Clemson."

When asked about the other schools currently recruiting Ford, he responded, "Right now I am also hearing from Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, North Carolina State and Auburn."

Clemson assistant David Blackwell is recruiting Ford for the Tigers.

"He is a great guy, a good man. He is easy to sit down and talk to," said Ford.

When asked about his current leader, Ford responded, "Clemson is my leader. They were the first to offer."

The Hanahan standout grew up pulling for the Gamecocks. How did he feel when his first offer came from the Tigers?

"It was a little awkward to be honest, but you would think the team you would want to go to would offer you first. I guess Clemson is more interested in me so they offered first," replied Ford.

If the Gamecocks offer would they jump in front of the Tigers?

"They would probably be even. I would still lean a little towards Clemson because they were my first offer," replied Ford.

The rising star impressed the Clemson staff at a seven on seven tournament in June. A return visit to Clemson is scheduled.

"I was up at Clemson for the 7-on-7. I plan to visit Clemson in two weeks and Georgia sometime in late August or early September," said Ford. "I am either going to wait until right after the season or make my decision in January," he added.

Ford had an outstanding junior season for Hanahan as he caught 63 passes for 630 yards and six touchdowns.
