"Around 3:00 I was talking to my head coach," he said. "I told him I was ready to commit to Clemson. We called coach Blackwell and coach Bowden. I committed around 3:30."

Coach Blackwell was thrilled to get the call.

"He was really excited. They wanted me real bad. They dropped another guy they were after at tight end to offer me. He said they really wanted me," said Ford.

How firm is Ford with his commitment to the Tigers?

"I am 100 percent. I want to be a Tiger," replied Ford.

Although Ford grew up pulling for the Gamecocks his family is very excited about his decision.

"Some of my family like South Carolina, some like Clemson and some like Tennessee. They all are excited for me to have the opportunity to play football in college. They are all real excited," said Ford.

Why did the Hanahan star receiver commit today?

"I decided two weeks ago that I wanted to commit before the season started. Clemson was my best offer and I decided I wanted to be a Tiger," replied Ford.
