TE Mike Cruz Profile

6-4, 245 pound tight end Mike Cruz made an unofficial visit to Clemson last week.

"The Clemson visit went real good," he said. "We toured the academic center. We got to see the field and the locker room. I liked everything I saw.

"I got to talk with all of the coaches. It went great."

When asked about his current favorites in the recruiting process, Cruz responded, "I am not trying to put a list out yet. I am not sure when I will narrow the field."

The visit to Clemson definitely helped the Tigers chances of landing the star tight end.

"Yeah, it definitely did," said Cruz.

The Pennsylvania standout will make a return visit to Clemson later this year for an official visit.

"I am planning on taking all five of my official visits. I will definitely take official visits to Illinois, Clemson and Florida State," said Cruz.

Don't expect a commitment until next year from the prize recruit?

"It will probably be around signing day," replied Cruz.

Cruz caught 19 passes for 225 yards and four touchdowns from his tight end position as a junior, earning first-team All-Conference honors in the process. On the defensive side of the ball, he recorded 38 tackles and returned an interception for a touchdown.
