The Season with Kyle Parker - WEEK TWO

Bartram Trail (Fla.) quarterback and Clemson verbal commitment Kyle Parker is doing a weekly diary on to document his senior season. In his second entry he talks about the start of his senior year, his new quarterbacks coach (who has coached at Southern California and the NFL) and more!

We started practice last Monday. We had three days in shells. On Thursday and Friday we went two-a-days in pads. Monday was real good. We only had a few more packages to install on offense. We are way ahead of where we were last year. Practices were hard this week. It was really hot. It was the hottest it has ever been.

On Thursday and Friday we would practice around eight in the morning and go until about 12. We would practice again at night from about 7:30 to 9:30.

I have a good feeling about this year. Everyone knows what they need to do. I am on the same page with the receivers. Plus I am throwing better than I can remember. I am way ahead of where I have ever been. This year I can call the protections myself. I also have more freedom to change protections and stuff like that.

I have a new quarterback coach this year. Coach Smith coached at Southern California when Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart were there. Then he was the offensive coordinator for the Jaquars.

He is a real cool coach. I have been learning a lot from him the past few weeks. There is not telling how good we can be with his help.

I have a photo shoot scheduled for this coming Wednesday with a Saint Augustine newspaper.

Then next weekend we have Camp Blanding. It is like an old military base. We get to stay in the dorms. We will go repelling and do some other team bonding activities. It is a lot of fun. We do some funny skits and so do the coaches.

Until next week ... Kyle Parker.
