WR/RB Larry Raper Profile

Shelby (N.C.) junior Larry Raper will be back in Clemson for the third time in three months when the Tigers open the season against No. 19 Florida State.

"Yeah I am coming down for the Florida State game," he said. "I will be coming with my dad and my step mom. I can't wait. I know it's going to be crazy down there."

The prize recruit has been working his dad to get the go-ahead for a verbal commitment for the past few months.

"My dad talked with coach Napier the other day. I am still talking to my dad about it," said Raper.

Will the speedster, who ran a 4.24 at the Scout combine, be ready to pull the trigger on a commitment during the visit?

"We will talk about it then. I am going to talk to my dad about it. He knows I am ready," said Raper.

The Shelby standout will begin his junior season later this week.

"We have our first game this Friday. We play against Freedom. I think we are going to be pretty good," said Raper.

The talented athlete will use his speed all over the field this year.

"I will play left wing when we are in the Wing-T. I will play in the slot and the backfield sometimes when we are in the shotgun. I will play safety on defense. I will also do kick returns and punt returns," said Raper.

As a sophomore, Raper rushed 98 times for 718 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also caught 17 passes for 466 yards and five more scores.
