Clemson or Auburn for 4-Star RB?

One of the top running backs in the Sunshine state will likely be playing for the Tigers next season. The question is will it be Clemson or Auburn?

RB Eric Smith Profile

5-11, 225 pound Eric Smith is off to an impressive start for his senior season with Armwood High (Fla.)

"It is going great so far," he said. "We are 4-0 right now. I am getting lots of carries. I have eight touchdowns. I am not sure how many yards I have so far."

When asked about his favorites, Smith responded, "I still have Auburn and Clemson at the top. I am also looking at LSU and Miami.

"Coach Rumph and coach Knox have both talked to my mom about official visits. I am not sure of any dates yet," said Smith.

The Florida standout will see one of his favorites this weekend.

"I am going to Florida this Saturday to see them play Florida," said Smith.

A trip to Death Valley to see the Tigers will occur sometime over the next two months.

"I plan on going to Clemson for a game. I am not sure which game yet," said Smith.

What is the prize recruit hearing from Clemson and coach Rumph?

"Coach Rumph calls every week to check in with me. He wants to see how I'm doing with football and also with personal life. He is pretty much like a friend. He talks to me like a home boy. We talk about everything, not just football. He is recruiting me the hardest right now," replied Smith.

Coach Knox and Auburn are also working Smith hard.

"I hear from him a lot also. He calls me with the running back coach and coach Tuberville. He asks how I am doing. He always talks with my mom as well. I respect that a lot," said Smith.

"I will wait until I take my official visits before I make any kind of decision. It will be after the season." Top Stories
