2009 Speedster Visiting Saturday

One of the top prospects in the southeast for the class of 2009 will be one of many top recruits heading to Death Valley for the ACC showdown between the Tigers and Hokies Saturday night.

RB/WR Larry Raper Profile

Future 4-star prospect and current Clemson verbal commitment Larry Raper has Shelby (N.C.)off to a fast start this year.

"We are scoring pretty good so far," Raper told CUTigers.com in a recent interview. "We are 5-1 on the year. I have six touchdowns so far. I am not sure how many yards.

"In our offense we usually run the ball on first and second down. I play out at receiver on third down. I am also playing defense. I play corner and safety. I am also returning kicks."

Raper said he will make a return trip to Death Valley this weekend.

"I will be coming to Clemson for the Virginia Tech game Saturday. I am going with two of my friends," said Raper. "It should be a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to getting back down there."

Several other Clemson commitments have been in touch with Raper since he committed to Clemson last month.

"Yeah I got a text from J.K. Jay the other day. Spencer Benton called me last week to congratulate me on committing to Clemson," said Raper.

The future Tiger is glad his commitment is behind him.

"I am glad it is over. It is allowing me to focus on my season. I have been going to the weight room every day now. I am up to about 163 pounds so that is going well too," said Raper.
