Top NC Junior Planning Return to Valley

One of the top three juniors in North Carolina will make a return visit to Death Valley this month. Which other top junior could be part of this potential package deal? CUTigers.com has all the information in this recruiting update.

DB Devonte Holloman Profile

The playoffs start this week for Devonte Holloman as Independence (N.C.) travels to play Greensboro Page.

"They have a good team. We have drawn up a good game to contain them. They have a good quarterback. If we can contain him we will win," Holloman told CUTigers.com.

The top defensive back has filled in at quarterback for several games over the past month, but shared the role in last week's game against Butler.

"They are going to stick with Anthony. I will get some plays at quarterback."

Are any college games in the plans for this weekend?

"Me and my dad were talking about going to the North Carolina game against State this weekend," replied Holloman.

A return visit to Death Valley is planned for next week.

"I know for sure that I will be at the Clemson game against Boston College," said Holloman.

The Independence standout was about to call coach Napier when he talked with CUTigers.com.

"I am about to call him in a little bit. I call him every Wednesday night. He tells me how the program at Clemson is going somewhere. I can see that myself. He is real straight forward and honest. We also talk about some other recruits. I know a couple of other recruits that they are after," said Holloman.

One of those recruits is good friends with Holloman.

"We talk about Stephon Gilmore. We grew up together. We played AAU together for about five years. I talk with him all the time," said the top junior.

The prize recruit had planned to make his decision before next summer, but that could change.

"That is what the plan is. My dad does want me to enjoy the recruiting process and take all of my official visits. I may wait and make my decision after that," said Holloman.
