OL Xavier Nixon Profile

6-6, 285 pound offensive line prospect Xavier Nixon is widely considered the top junior offensive lineman in North Carolina.

Not surprisingly, the Clemson coaching staff was the first to offer.

"I just got an offer from Georgia Tech," Nixon told CUTigers.com in a recent interview. "I have offers from Carolina, State, Duke, Notre Dame, Miami, Florida, Clemson and Illinois. There are also some others."

When asked if he has any early favorites, Nixon responded, "No, I don't have any right now."

The talented lineman visited Death Valley earlier this year.

"I was at Clemson for the Florida State game. It was a great visit. The atmosphere was really nice. They have great fans at Clemson," said Nixon. "I have also been to games at N.C. State and Carolina this year."

One of the top teams in the nation will get a visit in the next few weeks.

"I am supposed to go to Ohio State for one of their practices for the BCS Bowl," said Nixon.

What will be important to Nixon when he selects his college destination?

"Academics will be most important. I will also look for a place where I feel comfortable," replied Nixon.

The future 5-star prospect will travel to San Antonio in January.

"I know I am going to the US Army All American combine," said Nixon. "I'm really looking forward to that. Should be fun."

Clemson assistant coach Chris Rumph is recruiting the top junior for the Tigers.
