Mario Henderson Profile

The Tigers are continuing to build momentum in their recruitment of offensive linemen, especially after a verbal commitment yesterday from Pickens OL Marion Dukes.

Earlier today, Mario Henderson went on record with the Tigers as his favorite. Mario said that Clemson is his current leader and there's a very good reason for it.

"I didn't play football as a junior because I transferred from a different school and was ruled ineligible. Clemson came in and offered me during my junior year, even though I wasn't playing. That meant a lot to me," said Henderson.

"The only official visit that I have set up right now is with Clemson on January 10th."

"I've started on the varsity my freshman, sophomore and now my senior year. I really feel I was set back because I didn't play as a junior."

"I'm going to visit Wisconsin, Florida and North Carolina State but I haven't set up the dates yet."

Henderson currently has scholarship offers from a host of schools, including Florida, Wisconsin, Pittsburgh, N.C. State, Louisville, Clemson, Central Florida, and South Florida.

"I got a chance to go to the Miami/Florida State game last weekend," he said. "It was a lot of fun. I saw a real good game and the crowd was really, really, really loud. I didn't think it got that loud but I was wrong. I saw some other guys like Andrew Bain and Cyrim Wimbs from Ely. I had to joke around with them a little bit. And I saw Coach Kehoe. He asked me if I was having fun and I was like 'are you kidding, of course I'm having fun.'"
