Hunter Speechless With Clemson Visit

Former Byrnes linebacker Stanley "Buster" Hunter left Clemson Sunday on cloud nine knowing it's only a matter of weeks until he reports to school. has all the details in this recruiting update.

This weekend Stanley Hunter traveled to Tigertown to take his second official visit to Clemson.

"It was great," he said. "I already know everybody and know my way around. It was great though. It was the same feeling as last year." In just under a month Hunter will become an official Tiger.

"I got my classes and my move in date. I will be going up on January 6," said Hunter.

Hunter's roommate situation is still up in the air.

"I am not sure who I will be rooming with yet. It will either be the Byrnes guys or some of the new guys coming in early. It may be hard for Willy and them to change their contract in the middle of the year. I may end up staying with Marquan, Quan and those guys," said Hunter.

"Xavier was my host this weekend. We had dinner at the Chop House. Then we went to coach Bowden's house for desert. It was delicious at usual," said Hunter.

Saturday night was spent with many of his future teammates.

"Xavier had to come home because something was going on with his mom. He left me with Xavier and Spencer. Spencer is a great guy. He told us he is definitely leaing towards Clemson a whole lot. He says he is feeling strong to Clemson, but we will have to see if he commits.

"We had a great time Saturday night. We hung out with Crezdon Butler, Marcus Gilchrist, Jarvis Jenkins and some others. We were just chilling. The track team had a little get together. We had a great time. Just had some good, clean fun."

How excited is Hunter about getting to Clemson in just under a month?

"I am speechless right now. It is such a blessing. I want it so much more. I respect everyone else because I know they want to be here also, but I want it so much more. I had it taken away from me. You never know what you have until it is gone. While others may be dreading matt drills and spring practice I can't wait," said Hunter.

The former Shrine Bowl standout also spent a lot of time with Brandon Thompson during the visit.

"I was with Brandon most of time. He loves it. He says he is going to come to Clemson. I think we have him in the bag. He was kind of quiet at first, but after we got a couple of shrimp in him he really opened up," said Hunter.

Hunter will also be in Atlanta for the bowl game.

"I got my tickets early. I have some family in Atlanta so I am going to stay with them. I will probably go down on Thursday," he added. Top Stories
