DAY 4: James Davis Diary

ATLANTA – Each day while Clemson is in Atlanta preparing for the Chick-fil-A Bowl, Tigers star running back and Atlanta native James Davis will give an account of what he's been doing on a daily basis and what his thoughts are about those experiences.

Earlier during the day on Friday, I wound up taking LaDonte (Harris) and Rendrick Taylor over to my barbershop and they got their hair cut. A lot of people were over there and they were asking them all kinds of questions. At first, they were like to Rendrick, I know you're a defensive end or linebacker. I was like, nah, he's a receiver. They were really surprised by that.

There were a lot of people in there, but when we came in, the guy asked them to go ahead and let us get our hair cut first. They loved their haircuts. A lot of other guys asked me today to take them to the same place. So, I'm probably going to end up taking some more guys again today.

C.J. (Spiller) and I didn't end up going out last night. We were going to go to the ESPN Zone, but we didn't get enough guys that wanted to go. All the guys had to do other things. I went to this place called Chrome's down by where Ray Ray lives at and got something to eat there. I had some ribs and mashed potatoes. It was real good. I would up spending some time with my daughter again. We really only had about four hours to really do anything.

I don't go to places like Goosebumps. I don't like giving my money away to people like them.

I went to sleep probably about 2 o'clock last night. I got in about 12:30 and me and C.J. was up watching Bad Boys II and it probably ended about 2 o'clock and I went to sleep right after that, so I didn't get much sleep.

C.J. woke me up about 7:05, and I was like, why did you wake me up so early for? He was like, we got practice at 8. I was like, oh, man. So we had to be down (in the lobby) by 7:20 to get on the bus to leave to go to practice. I didn't even know practice was at 8 o'clock this morning. That kind of shocked me right there.

I was a little tired at first at practice, but I wound up feeling real good at the end. I thought practice went real well. We're just increasing things up a little bit and getting everything on the right track. Everything looked pretty good today.

Note: Davis was supposed to have a press conference at 11:15 a.m., Saturday, along with Rob Spence, Vic Koenning and Phillip Merling, but Davis didn't show. Instead, Thomas Austin was his substitute. When asked where Davis was, the sports information department said they couldn't find him. I was just tired and sleeping in my room. I knew we had it, but once I got in and out of the shower, I was like, OK, I've got about 10 minutes and I'm going to take a little nap. That nap wound up turning into like 20. Top Stories
