DE Daquan Bowers Profile
Clemson verbal commitment Daquan Bowers, the No. 1 defensive end in the country according to Scout.com, has generally been the first name mentioned when the Under Armour All American defensive players are being talked about this week.
Well for starters, Bowers has been that dominating in the week of practice leading up to the game.
In an interview with CUTigers.com Tuesday evening, Bowers said he is having a strong week of practice.
"They are pumping me it up pretty good. I am just giving it my best,"said Bowers. "Everything is going great down here. There are a lot of good athletes out here.
"We just got out of a meeting with Ladainian Tomlinson's trainer. Then we are going to grab a bite and watch some of the games tonight."
Four players participating in the game are currently verbally committed to Clemson- Bowers, QB Kyle Parker, RB Andre Ellington and CB Xavier Brewer. Bowers says he thinks a few more on coming on board, possibly as soon as this week.
"I think Spencer Adams is getting kind of close," he said.
Adams, the nation's No. 16 safety, is looking at Clemson and North Carolina and could announce a decision as soon as Thursday.
When asked if he was having success recruiting four-star defensive tackle Brandon Thompson, Bowers responded, "He has already told me he was coming to Clemson."
In just a few days the Shrine Bowl standout will officially be a Tiger.
"Actually I am heading up as soon as I get home. I will probably head up to Clemson on Monday or Tuesday," said Bowers.
What is the All American looking forward to the most about getting to Clemson?
"Just everything about it. I am ready. I can't wait. I will finally be part of Clemson. I can't wait to get up there. I'm excited," he said.
