Tigers Make Big Impression on OL

Florida native Ben Jones made his official visit to Clemson this weekend. Could the three-star tackle be close to a commitment? Read on to find out!

Can you talk about your official visit and what you did during your time on campus?
Jones: I enjoyed myself real well. Chris Chancellor showed me around. He showed me aournd campus. Took me off campus and had a little fun.

Who came with you on your trip?
Jones: I came up by myself.

What were some of the highlights?
Jones: The banquet last night was real good. They did this little joke thing where the players pretended to be the coaches.

How would you rate the visit on a scale of one to 10?
Jones: I would give it a nine.

How did your conversations go with the coaching staff?
Jones: They went good. They would love to have me there. They said they hoped I had a good time and would come to Clemson.

Did you hear about any verbal commitments this weekend?
Jones: No.

Did you commit during the visit?
Jones: No.

When do you plan to make your decision?
Jones: After I finish all of my visits.

Did the visit help Clemson's chances of signing you?
Jones: Yes, a lot. I don't have a leader, but they have a big chance.

Jones will now visit LSU this coming weekend, Ohio State on the 25th and Miami February 1st before announcing a decision.

In addition, Clemson head coach Tommy Bowden and assistant coach David Blackwell are scheduled for an in home visit Wednesday.
