Sanders Discusses Clemson Visit

A longtime verbal commitment, OL Matt Sanders, visited Clemson this weekend for his only official visit of the recruiting process. has the details of his trip in this report.

Can you talk about your official visit and what you did during your time on campus?
Sanders: I had a great time. We did a lot. Saw the campus. Saw the facilities. One of biggest things was I got to meet a lot of guys already committed. Got to hang out with my host Thomas Austin. He is a great guy. Got to talk with coach Bowden, coach Scott. We are already out and heading home.

Who came with you on your trip?
Sanders : My parents and my little sister JC.

What were some of the biggest highlights?
Sanders : Probably hanging out with my host. Getting to eat all the great food. They fed us real well. Also after lunch yesterday we got to go see our uniforms.

How would you rate the visit on a scale of one to 10?
Sanders : I would have to rate it about a 12. it exceeded my expectations. They are upgrading and my host showed me another side of Clemson.

How did your conversations go with the coaching staff?
Sanders : They went really well. I got some good time with coach Scott. We looked at some things on offense.

Did you hear about any verbal commitments this weekend?
Sanders : I don't want to spoil anything. There is one guy that I know pretty well.

Sanders originally chose the Tigers over offers from Maryland, Purdue, N.C. State, Iowa State and Central Florida.

One of the most talented linemen in North Florida, Sanders also plays basketball and participates in track.
