Booker ACC Player of the Week

Clemson's Trevor Booker was named ACC Player of the Week and Virginia Tech's Jeff Allen was selected as ACC Rookie of the Week.

In earning the award for the first time this season, Booker averaged 30.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.5 blocked shots as the Tigers finished the week 1-1. In Wednesday's 82-72 loss to UNC Charlotte, Booker had 11 rebounds and four blocked shots and hit on 10-of-14 from the floor and 11-of-15 from the free throw line en route to a career high 32 points. In Saturday's 97-85 double overtime victory over Florida State, the Whitmire, S.C., sophomore made 10-of-12 from the floor and finished with 29 points, five rebounds and three blocked shots. On the week, Booker made 20-of-26 from the floor (.769), including four-of-five from three-point range (.800).

In earning the rookie award for the second time this season, Allen had 17 points, nine rebounds, five steals, three blocked shots and made the game-winning free throw with 12.4 seconds left to play as Virginia Tech posted a 67-66 come-from-behind victory over visiting Maryland. On the week, the Washington, D.C., freshman averaged 13.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.5 steals, 2.5 blocked shots and 2.0 assists as the Hokies won twice.
