Jamie Harper Reaches a Decision

5-star running back Jamie Harper will end all of the recruiting rumors tomorrow when he announces his college destination and signs his letter of intent. Does the top running back have a decision or is he still working through the process? CUTigers.com has the latest in this recruiting update.

RB Jamie Harper Profile

With less than 24 hours remaining until five-star running back Jamie Harper announces his college destination, fans of the Illinois Fighting Illini, the Miami Hurricanes and the Clemson Tigers are nervous.

Clemson fans remember what Ron Zook did four years ago while he was the head coach at Florida, securing the verbal commitment of WR Mike McIntosh away from Clemson at the 11th hour before National Signing Day.

Miami fans are worried he's been committed to Clemson all along.

And Illinois fans are worried he simply wants to stay south- where it's nice and warm.

Harper has apparently narrowed his choices down to those three schools but has largely kept quiet about his final decision for the last seven days.

Harper's coach, Trinity Christian Academy's Verlon Dorminey, spoke with CUTigers.com Tuesday afternoon about his prized recruit.

"The announcement should go live at 12:20 tomorrow," he said. "I am not sure what ESPN channel yet. I need to check on that."

The question everyone wants to know is, "Does Jamie have a decision made or is he still thinking?"

Coach Dorminey said he believes Jamie is ready to go.

"He and I went to pickup some clothes for tomorrow earlier today. I asked him if he has sat down with his father and made a decision. He told me he is pretty sure that he knows where he is going," said coach Dorminey.

"I just told him I want him to make a good decision based on what is good for you and what is right for you. I told him to pray about it and make a good decision."

The recruiting process has been stressful for Jamie and his head coach.

"It has been a very hard process. The phone has rung off the hook since we finished playing. It is certainly better than not having anyone though," said coach Dorminey.

Does coach Dorminey think Jamie is at peace with his decision?

"One good thing about Jamie is that he doesn't ever see the glass half empty. He is always positive. Once he gets to where he is going he will adjust and be fine," he added.

Harper, the No. 5 running back in the nation according to Scout.com and an Under-Armour All-American, has visited all three of his favorites, including an official visit to Miami last weekend.

He is being recruited to Clemson by assistant coach Dabo Swinney.
