The Palmetto state's top junior defensive back committed to the Tigers Saturday during Clemson's Junior Day.

"I just committed like two minutes ago," said Jeffrey. "I just did it literally two minutes ago. That's pretty fast."

Why did he decide to commit to Clemson today?

"They just wowed me today. I like everything about Clemson. I like their plan for the future. I like that I will get a chance to come in and play instantly," said Jeffrey.

The Clemson coaching staff was thrilled to get the commitment.

"The coaches were so happy. they were ready to do back flips. They said they were looking for two defensive backs and they got them today," said Jeffrey.

Jeffrey's teammate, safety Chris Payne, also committed to Clemson today.

"We just put all our objectives together. Clemson was the best school that matched. I wanted to get away from home. Chris didn't want to leave the state," said Jeffrey.

Both Jeffrey and Payne are being recruited to Clemson by defensive line coach Chris Rumph.

Jeffrey recorded 109 tackles, five interceptions, four sacks and four forced fumbles last year. On offense he caught 12 passes for 230 yards and two touchdowns and also added 10 rushes for 130 yards and four touchdowns.
