6-4, 220-pound defensive end Sam Montgomery, one of the top players in the state of South Carolina for the class of 2009, made his second visit to Clemson in a month when he attended Junior Day on Saturday.

"I went to Clemson today," he told after leaving campus. "It was a pretty good day. I had already been there so it was nothing unusual. I enjoyed seeing everyone. It was a nice group of guys."

Montgomery also visited Tigertown the weekend before National Signing Day.

What did the Greenwood standout see that he had not seen during his previous visit?

"I saw a lot more on their player status. We watched some film. I saw what they did. I saw their plan for what they will have me do," replied Montgomery. "It was cool. It was a good trip and I learned a lot."

Montgomery's visit tour will continue over the course of the next few weeks.

"This week I will be going to South Carolina. Then next week I will head to North Carolina," said Montgomery.

After those visits the Palmetto standout plans to start to narrow the field.

"I will pick two out of Clemson, South Carolina, North Carolina and North Carolina State. The other three I will pick will be farther away. Those will be the five that I will take official visits to," he said.

When asked about his current leader, Montgomery responded, "I don't have one right now."

What will be the most important factors when the prize recruit selects his college destination?

"I will look at academics first. They will have to have a strong brotherhood. I will look for down to earth people. I will look for a strong football brotherhood," replied Montgomery.

As a junior Montgomery recorded 65 total tackles including 15 sacks, 20 tackles for loss and a forced fumble. Top Stories
